how do I know when it's done charging. If I hadn't noticed the box I would have not of fothe code conversion for the region changing. I tried a regional 1 DVD and it read it as 'error disc' I repeated this game for another 20 minutes until I was fed up with the whole thing and decided to ship it back. Next it shows the buttons on the player and remote but doesn't explain how to use them , I know, you'd think it was self explanatory and for the most but it is, but what the heck is the 'TFT BUTTON' what does it do.
I have to play with it taking the disc in and out and re starting it. Still working on that one. Then it doesn't explain charging the battery, like how long. First I have to say that the specific model that I purchased ( GPX8.5 portable dvd player PDL805 )has some nice features but horrible instructions. I am calling the company Monday to see what they will do about this unit. Then after 20 minutes of "This is a piece of sh@T" I thought I had it and put a regional 2 DVD in only for it to sit and do nothing.
I settled down and thought I'd give it one more try, I had to be doing something wrong, right. No, I was doing everything right. I found that if I pushed a little harder one the DVD when I place it into the player it would then work, but not every time.
I must comment that the company the I purchased my DVD player from was Super. The paper instructions do not mention anything about it.
I don't think it's good to have to push the dvd disk in place so hard like I'm having to do in order to get the thing to work.Plus and I find this a big plus, the thing is noisy. Will a green light come on when it's charged.
After I figured it was charged I set the code , which reset it's self twice. I can hear the motor running and it's worse with the head phones on.My old DVD player isn't like this.
I order it Thursday and I got it on the following Saturday, now that is Great service.
The first one wouldn't play DVD's, and the second jammed up and would not reboot. I was mailed two brand new units from a vendor, and both units were defective. This unit has problems. Then, after receiving a refund from the vendor, I didn't get all that I paid. Spend a little extra and save yourself the headache.
This is a very nice little unit. Wish the carry bag would hold all the cords but other than that its great.
maybe bacuse I don't batteries anymore - see below). and I mean all the time. I think we bought this 1.5+ years ago, and my daughter uses this all the time. Small enough that we carry it all the time when tarveling (god send with kids). The only down side is that battery doesn't hold changes anymore (like 5 min max now) after no that long. It's still working fine, unlike the other one we got before that broke down after maybe a year. The screen is big and clear, sound ok (althought it always defaults to very loud. so it's always plugged in now. Having a hard time finding a replacement battery.
I really love this DVD player. I use it all the time and it works just fine, however, the remote control does not appear to work. I bought new batteries and put them in the device and it's not working. Other than that, I'm happy with it.
